It may be recalled that NMTV News had aired a report that exposed how the Krantisinh Nana Patil garden at Sector 8, Airoli did not need redevelopment work yet the NMMC was spending over Rs. 13 lacs for it. In our follow up report today, take a look as to how the project has crossed it time period of two months and the redevelopment work is yet completed. On November 8, 2009 NMTV News had aired a report on how the Standing Committee meet of NMMC had passed the proposal for development of the Krantisinh Nana Patil garden at Sector 8, Airoli at a cost of Rs. 13, 36, 305 to Ekvira Mauli Construction. However, when the NMTV team visited the garden at Airoli, the conditions surprised us – for the garden was in a notably good condition and the hundreds of visitors to the garden were unanimous on their opinion that the garden did not need any development. The redevelopment of the Krantiveer Nana Patil Garden was to be completed by the contractor Ekvira Mauli Construction in a time period of two months. However, its been three months and the garden is not even close to completion. The contractor was expected to develop the garden with sand, plants, decorative plants and walls but as of today all that the contractor has done is fill the ground with red sand. The work of railing has just started and one wonders when the contractor will plant in trees and plants. When are team visited the garden we found that the bricks used was also of poor quality as they were simply breaking with slight pressure. At the NMMC Airoli Ward Office no one spoke to us on the matter even as the contractors continues to take his own leisure time completing the work not bothered that the people of this community have been deprived of a social amenity. Your channel will continuously follow up this report so that the administration and corporators become more accountable to use and not mis-use your taxes. From Airoli, Sudhir Sharma for NMTV News.
