DGP A N Roy visited the Navi Mumbai Commissionerate to discuss how to tackle the growing crime graph of Airoli – this post Congress Corporator Anand Kale’s murder. Sudhir Sharma met Commissioner of Police Ramrao Wagh on the DGP’s visit. The Mumbai Police Department that is still clueless about the murder of Airoli corporator Anant Kale, has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the case. Despite the daylight murder, the department has no witnesses and hence the SIT would start working on the case. The team will be led by DCP – Zone 1 R D Shinde. The police will also check if there was any possible property dispute or deal concerning Kale which went sour and led to his murder. There is also mounting political pressure about this case, as several Congress corporators and other senior party members submitted a joint appeal to the chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, for the detection of murder on a priority basis. Post this, DGP A N Roy paid a visit to the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.
