A discussion was held at the NMMC HQ on the disaster management system that has been upgraded for the upcoming monsoons. An update on the pre-monsoon works that has been done by the administration was presented at the meet. NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata spoke on the disaster management system in the presence of Mayor Anjani Bhoir and NMMC corporators. The Commissioner informed that as per the state’s directives a Disaster Management Committee was set up. Disaster management Control rooms were set up and wireless communication was being brought in use including Ham Radios to keep the officers connected at emergencies. Books have been published which includes the hierarchy of the administrative officers and their departments along with contact information of corporators. Further the Commissioner informed about the drain and gutter cleaning work done in the city.
