In a display of oneupmanship, the Shiv Sena was the first to rush to the chief minister’s chamber on the morning of the first day of the winter session of the state assembly to submit a “leaked copy” of the Ram Pradhan committee report. A day earlier, senior BJP member and leader of opposition Eknath Khadse had informed mediapersons that he had a copy of the “leaked report” and would submit it personally to CM Ashok Chavan. Sources said that a delegation led by Sena group leader Subhash Desai submitted a copy to Chavan in his chamber earlier in the day. The BJP legislators claimed in the House that they had a copy of the “leaked report”, but they were taken by surprise when they learnt that the Sena had already scored a point over them. The Sena is apparently irked by its ally for inviting their rival, the MNS, to attend the joint press conference which was addressed by the leader of opposition on Monday. The winter session took off with stormy scenes and adjournments over the leaked R D Pradhan Committee report.
