The Dubai Frame was officially announced as the world’s ‘largest building in the shape of a frame’ by the Guinness World Records this week. Standing at 150.24-metres tall by 95.53-metres wide, it offers panoramic views of old and new Dubai. Construction started in 2013 and it opened on January 1 2018, however GWR have only just got around to verifying the unique structure’s claim as the world’s largest of its kind.
The Dubai Frame is a mammoth achievement of engineering. The Zabeel Park-based Dubai Frame, which opened January 2018, features high on the must-see list for locals, residents and visitors alike.
Designed with a nod to both Dubai’s pearl-diving beginnings and its rise to an urban cityscape, the Frame provides two very different perspectives of the city. Visitors gazing to the north will catch sight of Old Dubai, the dhow-studded Dubai Creek and its surrounding souks.
Besides this, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa holds the record of being the worlds’ longest tower.
