Dubai introduces its newest airport, Al Maktoum International which has the capacity of entertaining 200 million passengers per year, UAE
Dubai introduces its newest airport Al Maktoum International. Although the airport has not been completed yet, but it already has set challenges for airports in Etihad and Abu Dhabi. Once the airport stands completed, its expected to entertain around 160 million passengers per year which is expected to increase to 200 million passengers. It wouldn’t be difficult for the new airport to attract customers because of its location as well as low fare carrier terminal. Now the passengers from Dubai would not have to travel all the way to Abu Dhabi for flights. Sensing the competition, Abu Dhabi has also entered into improvising its aviation network and infrastructure expansion.
At the opening of Al Maktoum International Airport on Sunday, Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air stated that the airline is looking towards evaluation of flying into India, using Al Maktoum International as a hub. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
