Dumping of bodies of Ebola patients on the streets by workers pulls authorities and management under poor light, Sierra Leone

The burial workers of Sierra Leone are staging a protest against the authorities on grounds that they have not been paid their bonuses for the past seven weeks. A bonus that had been promised them for taking care of burial of the Ebola patients in a manner that it does not become a cause of danger from any other civilian. But the burial workers did something completely opposite. To stage their protest they dumped the bodies on the streets while three bodies were being dumped at a hospital entrance.

For this the authorities had a very different say. According to them the money had already been handed out to the district health management and second all the workers that have become a part of this inhuman act will definitely be suspended from their jobs.

‘Displaying corpses in a very, very inhuman manner is completely unacceptable. The money for the bonus had already been handed over but now it looks like somebody needs to be investigated to find out where is all the money been going to’ as being stated by the spokesman for the National Ebola Response Centre.
