With the 15th Lok Sabha elections to be held on the 30th of April, South Central Mumbai’s Congress candidate Eknath Gaikwad filed his nominations at the Old Custom House. Speculations are running wild on who would take over the Lok sabha seat for South-Central Mumbai. The candidates of all the parties are all geared up and have already started campaigning for the seat. Political analysts predict that with delimitation, many of the voters are confused which might have a great impact on the results. The previous Lok Sabha elections saw Congress’ Eknath Gaikwad defeating Shiv Sena’s Manohar Joshi by 13,329 votes. The victory was much spoken about as it was not easy to defeat a prominent Sena leader like Manohar Joshi. This time too Eknath Gaikwad has expressed confidence in his victory. It is to be noted that Eknath Gaikwad had been previously elected from Dharavi twice and this time, it would his daughter Varsh gaikwad who would be standing for elections from this region. It would be a wait and watch to see if Eknath Gaikwad does repeat history by winning the Lok Sabha seat. With cameraperson Roshan Hate, Mushtaq Khan for NMTV News.
