Leader of the Opposition Eknath Khadse called the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra a “complete failure” and said that chief minister Ashok Chavan had no clue about what he wants to do. Leader of the Opposition Eknath Khadse while making a public statement for the first time after being elected the leader of Opposition two months ago, criticized the working of the state government and its failure to address the common man’s issue. The BJP leader said that he did not want to comment on the state government’s performance in haste without giving them enough time. However, the government has not taken a single decision of public interest after coming to power, he said. He said that Ashok Chavan had to change his statements twice in the last seven days. The first time, the cabinet took a decision that taxi permits would be given only to those who can read, write and speak Marathi. However, very next day the CM changed the decision and said that the permits would be given to people who know the local languages. Mr Khadse also lashed out against tribal development minister Babanrao Pachpute for his recommendation of a DNA test to establish the identity of tribespeople across Maharashtra has created a storm. He said that there was a lack of corordination between the state and the centre to tackle the issue of inflation. He further alleged that all there was a lot of overspending at all the ministers’ offices. He further also spoke on the shiv sena’s attack on actor Shah Rukh Khan’s home.
