ENCROACHMENT ON GARDEN PLOT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT BUT AMPC MANAGEMENT YET TO TAKE ACTION

apmc1An allotted land of 2000 square meter at the fruit market in APMC is being illegally used which was initially allotted as a garden. An illegal shed has been made by the APMC administration on this plot. This is the illegal shed that has been erected on the plot numbered 3 and 7 at the fruit market of APMC which ideally should have been a garden. Two to three years back a proposal for a garden at this plot was presented but with some opposition, the proposal was stalled which is yet pending for approval. There are around 350 merchants and vendors which spread out their wares under this illegal shed. Some of them do not even have stalls and licenses. Sources inform that there are many vendors here which are operating business fearlessly under the shelter of some APMC officials. The justification given by the Fruit market Director Sanjay Pansare is that the reason for the shed was to prevent a division in the market. There are around 1029 galas at the APMC Fruit market while 1300 merchants are licensed raising the obvious issue of space crunch. Sanjay Panasare also admitted that around 30% merchants carry out businesses illegally which is leading to crores of revenue loss for the market. He stated that he would investigate the matter and take action against these illegal stalls. With cameraperson Dyanheswar Mali, Sudhir Sharma for NMTV News.
