EX-SERVICEMEN JOINS HANDS FOR IMMEDIATE IMPLEMENTATION GOVERNMENT’S ONE RANK ONE PENSION SCHEME

dara-1The retired army officers have been waiting for a long time for the government’s One rank one pension scheme. The same was put forth in the parliamentary committee meet in the year 2004 but after four years, it is still pending for approval. For the same IESN association took out a morcha. There is always a sense of pride and respect that one feels looking at the soldiers and army-men of our nation. The soldiers who have dedicated their lives to protect us and our future generation. Unfortunately, our government probably does not think so. Today the retired army officers have been facing problems in pension. The technical as well as the non-technical army was initially divided into two categories one of the degree holder and the other of the diploma holder. Based on the educational qualifications, there were different scales of salary given for the same post. And after retirement, the pension received is in accordance with the salary drawn. This was protested by army officers who demanded the implementation of one rank one pension scheme. This eight year long delayed case was also taken up by Congress Chief Sonai Gandhi. In the year 2004, it was brought in the Parliamentary committee for approval but it has been four years now and nothing has been done about it. For the same the IESN led a movement in which all the retired army officers came together and have demanded that the age limit of retirement should also be increased. It maybe recalled that the 6th Pay Commission of the government once again evades the pension and other issues to which the ex-servicemen expressed distress.
