ticket-1Due to the faulty ticket vending machines, commuters using smart cards are feeling cheated. Known as Mumbai’s lifeline, even though railways assure of providing best service to the commuters, the real story is quite different. A proof of this was seen at the Vashi railway station. Railways distribute smart cards and install AVM’s so that commuters need not wait in long queues. The number of smart card holders in Vashi is around 7000 to 8000 but because of some or the other defect in AVM’s, commuters have to face problems. A similar situation was seen at Vashi railway station, when faulty AVM’s at the station became a hassle for commuters. The fault behind the vending machine is said to be the high cost of ticket papers. The officials at the Mumbai CST station did not speak to us but the chief booking supervisor at Vashi railway station indicated that such fault and inconvenience is due to the negligence of officials.
