Sena’s Vithal More has taken a U Turn. Despite NCP and Sena sources confirming that Vithal More was all set to join NCP, both More and senior NCP party leader set aside the speculations though none say that this will not happen in the near future. Nilofar Shaikh caught up with both the sides when a delegation of NCP corporators headed by Sanjeev Naik visited Vithal More’s residence on Padva. A few days after Shiv Sena Corporator Vithal More’s banners along with NCP Navi Mumbai Supremo Ganesh Naik spotted at several places in Navi Mumbai set tongues wagging, a group of NCP Corporators headed by former Mayor Sanjeev Naik along with NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik, corporators Bharat Nakahte, M K Madhvi, Anant Sutar and others visited Vithal More’s residence. Since morning there were reports coming from the NCP party that Vithal More was to visit NCP Corporator Bharat Nakhate’s office at Vashi where he would officially join NCP but at the last moment – plans changed and a NCP group headed to meet Vithal More at his residence. For reasons not hard to decipher, Vithal More had backtracked from entering the NCP. In a very conscious attempt, neither the NCP side nor Vithal More discussed anything about Vithal More joining NCP. Even as both the sides played political games, we spoke to former Mayor Sanjeev Naik who very diplomatically sighted a lame reason for visiting Vithal More’s residence, which was very difficult to digest. On the subject of the banners in the city, Sanjeev Naik feigned ignorance and said he had not seen the banners. On the other hand, Vithal More gave political answers on the issue of the controversial banners. Ask him that he has always been perceived to be a Ganesh Naik man and since Vijay Chougule knew it all along, things became difficult for him when Chougule entered Sena, this is what he has to say. And when we asked him whether he planned to join the NCP, though he refused to agree, he did not disagree the same. Sources inform NMTV News that Vithal More is well aware of the possible violent backlash that he might have to face from fellow Shiv Sainiks. Besides this, the ward from where More has won, majority of voters are staunch supporters of BJP, RSS and Shiv Sena. Vithal More entering NCP would mean losing on this vote bank. And it is due to these very reasons that Vithal More has delayed entering NCP, sources say. However, the day Vithal More enters NCP, all allegations often made against him will be endorsed as being true all along. With cameraperson Ravi Nikam, Nilofar Shaikh for NMTV News.
