To the delight of sea-lovers, a ferry service would be soon launched between Navi Mumbai and south Mumbai from February 15 if the National Maritime Board approves the fare structure by then. It’s good news for commuters and sea-lovers as very soon ferry service is expected to launch to commute from Navi Mumbai to south Mumbai. The ferry would cover the distance in 30 minutes, which is about half the minimum time required by rail or road. Hind Jal Pravasi Vahatuk Sanghatana (HJPVS) plans to start a service from Vashi to Gateway of India initially. The requisite permission from MMRDA, CIDCO, NMMC and the environment department of the Central government has also been received. If the fare structures fall in place, the service is going to be a boon for commuters as the trip which takes 1 hour will be covered in just 30 minutes.
