FIR in Ulwe hill blasting for the Navi Mumbai International Airport

An FIR has been registered by the NRI coastal police against those responsible from R. Balarami Reddy and company (RBR) who had taken up the hill blasting operation at Ulve in which seven persons, including a geologist, an engineer and a seven-year-old boy were injured. A landslide took place during blasting of Ulwe hill for the Navi Mumbai International Airport on Saturday.

Of the seven, five officials were from GVK group and one from Cidco. An FIR was registered after a complaint was lodged by one of the injured officials from GVK group. The accused have been booked under Sections 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance), 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others), 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (Causing grievous hurt) and 427 (Mischief causing damage) of the IPC.
