FOR SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY, BMC PLANS CCTVS FOR ITS OFFICES

cc-camera-3Being one of the city most important government bodies, the BMC deems it necessary to put some basic security measures in place. Installing a CCTV system is one of them. The administration has decided to install the system in three BMC hospitals, three ward offices and one in the BMC premises itself. Being vulnerable to terror threats and vulnerable to public action, the BMC has decided to install CCTVs at all the important places and offices of BMC. To check this operation first, BMC would be installing these cameras only at seven places initially which are the BMC headquarter, KEM hospital, Nayar hospital, Lokmaniya Tilak hospital, M ward office, G-south ward office and K-west ward office. The proposal for installing the cameras at these seven places has been approved by the BMC Standing Committee at a cost Rs 3 crores. Although BMC is passing various proposals in the name of security, one would have to wait and watch if the scheme would indeed be a success or a failure like the security doors that have been installed at BMC headquarters and hospitals.
