Former Chief Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari came down heavily on the ruling NCP party at NMMC for showing disrespect to teachers. Politicians of the ruling NCP party at NMMC earned the ire of the former Chief Justice during teacher’s day celebrations where teachers and students including the former Chief Justice were made to wait for over two hours because senior NCP leaders of Navi Mumbai failed to arrive on time. Time indiscipline and taking public gatherings and meetings for granted by politicians in nothing new in NMMC general body meeting and NMMC events. While the political leaders get away with this during all public events, they earned the complete ire of the former Chief Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari when they kept him waiting for over two hours during the NMMC’s teacher’s day celebrations. The former Chief Justice, teachers and students all reached the venue on time while the NCP brigade including former NMMC Mayor Sanjeev Naik, Dy. Mayor Shashikant Birajdar and Ram Vichare arrived two hours late. The former Chief Justice completely lost his cool over the delay and came down heavily on the ruling NCP party for the time indiscipline. He said that the politician’s behavior was disrespect to teachers. Time indiscipline due to political delay has become a common occurrence at all NMMC events, functions and meetings. However, NCP leaders in Navi Mumbai did cross the line when the showed disrespect to not just a former Chief Justice but more importantly teachers on teacher’s day.
