Friday the 13th release date pushed to 2017


Paramount Pictures has set April 1, 2016 as new release date for “The Ring 2” sequel and January 13, 2017 for “Friday the 13th”.

“Friday the 13th (2017)” was earlier slated for May 13, 2016 release while November 13, 2015 was set for “Rings”, reported Aceshowbiz.

Now, Friday the 13th will face off against Sony’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, Lionsgate’s Power Rangers, Gerard Butler-starrer Geostorm and 20th Century Fox drama Hidden Figures.

David Bruckner (‘Southbound’) will direct Friday the 13th with a script penned by Nick Antosca.
