Keeping the spirit of sports alive, Fr. Agnel’s had organized the 5th Agnel’s Mini Marathon at Vashi. Hundreds of students, parents and well-wishers of the school participated in the minithon. Like each year, even this year the minithon was organized for a cause – to gather funds for the victims of the Mumbai terror attack. It started from the Fr. Agnel grounds and from the Noor Masjid junction headed towards Shivaji Chowk, then to sector 12 Vashi crossing mini seashore and back to the school. At the end of the minithon, enthusiastic and elated children spoke to us. A few parents too shared their experience of being a part of the cause. The Fr. Agnel Minithon started as an initiative by Fr. Almeida – Managing Director of Agnels Technical Complex to gather funds for a cause. He stated that this year they would not be giving out prizes and that around 8-9 lakhs have been collected for the cause. We also spoke with Father Russell on the day. Also present were prominent builder Nalin Sharma, NMSA Vice President Dr. Dilip Rane and ex-corporator Raju Shinde.
