CIDCO’s Urban Haat has organized another exhibition called the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar 2011. This handicrafts exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of the newly appointed CIDCO Director Vasant Bhoir. Around 150 artisans from across rural India have participated in this exhibition. The wares displayed include embroidery work, leather, wooden, bamboos, carpets, arts and crafts, paintings and much more. The exhibition, organized by the D Textile Industry, Government of India in association with CIDCO, will go on till the 2nd of October.
Speaking to the media, CIDCO Director Vasant Bhoir said that CIDCO would give whatever financial assistance is needed to boost the work of these artisans. On the other hand, the Assistant Director of Textile Department G C Kondu said that there was a need to market the wares of the rural artisans. Some of the artisans shared with their displays.
