GOVERNMENT GIVES GREEN SIGNAL FOR SECOND CORRIDOR OF METRO RAIL

The Centre has given its nod for the construction of the second corridor for the metro rail project in Mumbai. The construction of much awaited Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd corridor is expected to begin soon now. In a meeting held between the Central government authorities and the MMRDA Commissioner Ratnakar Gaikwad along with the State Urban development officers, a fund of Rs 8250 crores have been allotted for the construction Charkop-Bandra-Mankhurd corridor. It may be noticed that this 32 km long corridor would include 27 stations in which Malad, Kasturi Park, Oshiwara JVPD, Arya Samaj Chowk, National College, Bandra etc would be the main stations. The proposal also includes the construction of a car shed at Charkop-Bureau Report NMTV news.
