GRAND INAUGURATION OF JANTA RAJA – THE SHOW THAT BRINGS ALIVE THE LIFE AND LEADERSHIP OF CHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ

janata-raja1The much awaited Janta Raja was inaugurated in a grand ceremony at Vashi. Manisha Kumbhar joined the event to bring to us the minute by minute grandeur of the inaugural ceremony. No compromises for grandeur, and certainly not when the subject concerned is Chhatrapati Shivaji. That explains the 60-ft. extravagant set, 200 actors, an impressive combination of light and sound, and the entry of real horses, camels and elephants, that made the extravaganza titled Jaanta raja a memorable performance for Navi Mumbaikars. Despite the 26/11, this grand drama started in the city which saw the presence of thousands of drama lovers. Jaanta Raja, the known king is being held in Navi Mumbai for the first time with the support and initiative of MLC Manda Mhatre who too expressed happiness in the success of the event on the first day itself. This mind-boggling creation of the great Maratha leader cannot be defined as a mere play. It is beyond that, it is a permanent tribute to the greatness of shivaji. More than 200 artists were seen in the last minute preparations of the show. Even dignitaries of Navi Mumbai could not resist from staying away from this performance. Present were State Cabinet Minister Ganesh Naik, BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, Mayor anjani Bhoir and others. Artists have come off from far off places for this six day event for whom accommodation for their stay in the city is being given by Haware Builders. Perched on the highest point of the set and looking into a cannon which will shoot fireworks during the show, one can only marvel at the brilliant effort that has gone into the making of Jaanta Raja, something which would not have been possible without the efforts of MLC Manda Mhatre. Shivaji gave a new face to Maharashtra and in him were to be found all the qualities which make for a perfect human being. It is this that is being projected and kept alive through this epic drama. And like its said Jaanta Raja is indeed a play fit for a King.
