For the last 18 years the Hanuman temple has been looked after by resident pandit swami Baba and his son Sukhsagar Goswami. This temple is daily visited by many devotees. However, disturbing the peace of the temple, senior NCP party worker Mukund Vishwasrao who is also the husband of the local corporator had allegedly tried to extort money from the pandit and when he refused he was allegedly beaten up by Mukund Vishwasrao, the marks of which is still on Swami baba’s face. The incident has even shocked the local residents. We also spoke with Mukund Vishwasrao who refured the allegation and stated that the Swami Baba had himself sent hooligans to threaten him.
