HERITAGE 2006 SHOWCASES THE ETHNICITY AND BRILLIANCE OF INDIA’S CULTURE AND HERITAGE

heritage-3New Panvel based DIEMR’s Heritage 2006 culminated at Powai on a very successful note. We bring to you highlights of the festival. India’s history is not inanimate, as perceived to be. Dayanand Institute of Education, Management and Research realizes that our culture and heritage serves as a rich repository of value-oriented education but there is a need to awake the young minds of the nation of the popular under estimation of our History. If atleast at the extra curricular level of education, human values be imbibed from the social and cultural environment, then it could act as an impetus to bring about a social transformation. Heritage 2006 through it cultural festival took the audience of educationists, students, parents and teachers on a journey that showcased the astounding qualities of our heritage whose brilliance and ethnicity conspired to defy time ! Encouraging students with their presence were Padmashree G P Chopraji – President – DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, Madam Sarla Chopraji, Dr. K B Kushal – Director, DIEMR Shri Vishwanathji – Vice President, Dr. V N R Pillai – VP, UGC, DAV College Managing Committee and Shri T. R. Gupta, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee. History alone does not alone become heritage. Concrete, marble and symmetrical gardens are just expensive real estate if one does not feel the human touch that they have preserved. DIEMR’s Heritage 2005 encompassed this and India’s ancient heritage by way of its presentations !
