Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Khadse alleged that the Congress-NCP combine government has taken the overdraft of Rs 1,000 crore to meet the depleted financial position of the state and sought details about it. Opposition leader Eknath Khadse alleged in the legislative assembly that Sharad Pawar and his wife had flown with tainted DB Realty boss Shahid Balwa to Dubai last year. After the railways, the state government has also washed its hands off the Garib Nagar slums. Claiming that government officials were misusing a law that protects them from arbitrary transfers, home minister RR Patil told the state assembly that his department would move a proposal to amend the existing law.
