Home dept. seeks addl information from R D Shinde over Sheena Bora murder case negligence

The home department has said that the one page report filed by the police department in the Sheena Bora murder case was inconclusive and did not suggest any actions against the cops involved.  Hence they have now directed the Director General of Police Pravin Dixit to again record the statement of additional commissioner of police (central region) R D Shinde.

R D Shinde was the Raigad police superintendent in 2012 when the half-burnt body Sheena Bora was disposed of by the police without registering an FIR.

A probe was ordered against the three officers involved – R D Shinde, inspector Subhash Mirghe, who is now posted in Pune and then Pen division sub-divisional officer Pradeep Chavan.

While statements were recorded by the current Raigad superintendent of police Suhez Haq of Mirghe and Chavan and sent to the DGP, Shinde submitted his statement to Sanjeev Dayal, the predecessor of Dixit and the one who had ordered the probe.

However, now the home department had ordered to seek additional information from Shinde calling the previous report inconclusive.
