Home Minister R R Patil was present in Navi Mumbai to grace events organized by the Navi Mumbai Police. Details with this report. Keeping in mind the stress and pressure that the police generally faces in their work life, the bhoomipujan of a club house and a gymnasium in the premises of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate was done at the hands of Home Minister R R Patil. Present along with the minister was DGP A N Roy, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, Thane MP Dr. Sanjeev Naik, MP Gajanan Babar, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik and other dignitaries. Post the bhumipujan, a gathering was held at D Y Patil auditorium. Speaking during his addressal, Home Minister R R Patil said that the traffic movement on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was hassled due to the security squads of ministers and hence only the most extreme VVIPs should get security. Speaking to the media about the progress in the Pune bomb blast case, he said that investigations were on. The funds for the construction of a club house and gymnasium was done from the Police Welfare funds as well as from the funds collected from well-wishers and supporters. Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik also bringing glee to the cops said that he would be donating RS 25 lakhs from his MLA funds and Rs 25 lakh from Dr. Sanjeev Naik’s MP funds for this work. On the day, policemen who had done well in their work were also honored by the Minister.
