Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh denied all speculations of change of guard during an event in Panvel. Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was at his unperturbed best during the first public function after Sunday speculations about change of guard in Maharashtra. Reports indicated that the Congress leadership had met Saturday night in Delhi and discussed the possibility of removing Deshmukh as Maharashtra Chief Minister and replacing him with Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. However, there wasn’t any trace of worry when the Chief Minister addressed a gathering during a central railway event in Panvel. The Chief Minister, while refuting rumours about him being ousted from his post, told television channels that he was very much stable and instability was with the media. Reports that all wasn’t well in the state reached Delhi after Congress’s embarrassing defeat in the MLC elections. Highly placed sources in Congress say that a report in this regard has been submitted by senior party leader Vyalar Ravi to the party high commands.
