State Excise, Non Conventional Energy and Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik is indeed a trendsetter of sorts. The leader continued to prove the reason of his popularity in not just the classes but masses as well. Janta Darbaar presided over by the minister is one such platform where the leader meets the masses. And even in the midst of his hectic schedule this festive season, the Minister was present at Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium to meet citizens. One of the toughest tasks for the common man today is to meet any authority or leader who are at positions to attend to their grievances and problems. It is not just difficult but impossible at times to meet them in person. However, the trendsetter that he is, Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik began the practice of holding Janta Darbaars in his constituency. He has been holding Janta darbaar since his last tenure as Minister where people come in huge numbers pinning their hopes on the minister for their problems and grief. And while many have thought that this festive season with his hectic schedule of events, the Minister might not have time for organizing a darbar for the masses, they were thinking wrong. Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik not only organized his janta darbaar but also ensured that corporators, NMMC officials, police officials, CIDCO and PWD officials and other government personnel were present for the meeting. The main issue that was taken up during the meeting was by the APMC traders and merchants who came with a delegation headed by the Federation of Associations of Maharashtra’s President Mohan Gurnani. The delegation submitted a written complaint to the minister on the irresponsible way in which NMMC Cess department carried out surprise raids in the APMC Spice market. Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik assured them that he will find a solution to their problem. Speaking to the media, the minister stated that the NMMC officers should carry out their duties responsibly. He assured of taking up the matter with the NMMC Commissioner, adding that while NMMC had every right to collect cess, it was wrong to malign someone’s image in the process. He added that if NMMC was unable to do so, then he himself will find a solution to their problem that will safeguard the interests of both the NMMC and the merchants at APMC. Present with the minister during the meeting were Thane MP Dr. Sanjeev Naik, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik and NMMC Commissioner Bhaskar Wankhede.
