Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Scientist Prof. C. N. Rao honored with Bharat Ratna Award, New Delhi

Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who had retired from cricket last year on November 16th, had been felicitated with the Bharat ratna award along with Scientist Prof. C. N. Rao today by President Pranab Mukherjee. Also those who were present at the function were Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and dignitaries from various walks of life.

Sachin Tendulkar has now become the only cricketer of the country to be honored with this award. Obviously a very proud moment for all Sachin’s fans once again.

‘It’s the biggest honor for me and I am extremely delighted on receiving Bharat Ratna. I want to dedicate this recognition, this award to my mother and all those mothers of India who sacrificed their wishes and aspiration for their children so that the children’s dream can come true. I am extremely proud to be born in this beautiful nation and I would like to express my gratitude for all the love, affection and support that I have received for number of years’ as said by Sachin Tendulkar after receiving his award.
