And the match between Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals might just be the last match of this season that D Y Patil Stadium would be witnessing as BCCI is reconsidering its decision of playing the last two matches here. BCCI is reconsidering scheduling two of the matches to be played in Dr. D Y Patil Stadium after receiving complaints from the players regarding its pitch and other services. It is said that the players of Mumbai Indian are demanding to play the matches at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The players have complaint that where as the stadium is 50 km away from their hotels, other services like the green room and eating places are not up to the mark. Other complaints are regarding the pitch of the ground. It is said that the mud used to fill the pitch was sent from Africa and the players are more accustomed to practicing in grounds where the mud is used of India. They claim that the pitch is quiet slippery and upon falling there get small scratches and cuts. Sources reveal that the top layer of the ground is filled with sand. While this will help during raining season where the sand would soak the water, more energy is required to run on sand filled ground which is inconveniencing players. While the stadium was applauded by many former cricketers and dignitaries who were present for the past matches, looks like the same are criticizing it including the owner of Mumbai Indians.
