The industrialists at Sanpada, Sector 6 Service Industries area are being victimised in the responsibility tossing blame of NMMC and CIDCO. Speaking to Navi Mumbai News, they voiced that if not attended to, the civic problems, which include no streetlights or sewage lines and more will drive the industries out of the cities. When CIDCO promised them everything under the sun, 51 industries invested in Crores and set up their industries on tender plots at sector 6, Sanpada. At the time of allotting plots, these industrialists were promised complete infrastructure like roads, water, streetlights, sewerage lines and other basic civic amenities. However, even after eight years, none of the promises have been fulfilled by CIDCO. The industrialists say that when they write letters stating their problems, NMMC and CIDCO pass the buck of the work on the other. And this despite the fact that they are paying taxes in the tune of Crores to NMMC and CIDCO. While this is a service industry sector, the deplorable conditions drive customers and business out of the sector, which is leading to the closure of the industries. Industrialists informed that the plot allotted to them for their association has been encroached upon as well. Now the industrialists are attempting to bring the gravity of their problems to the attention of authorities by not paying property taxes. If not looked into soon, yet another industrial sector of the city will become victim of CIDCO’s and NMMC’s apathy.
