It might be Obama versus Romney in White House, but wives are in complete support to each other

Recently when a Democratic strategist, Hilary Rosen commented on Ann Romney, Mitt Romney’s wife, that being so wealthy and staying at home she would have never worked a day in her life, least had she expected to be opposed by every possible person in politics she would be aware of. To begin with Obama’s campaign objected at such remarks with full force, where Michelle Obama replied ‘every mother works hard and every woman deserves to be respected’. Top strategist David Axelrod stated that Rosen comments were inappropriate and offensive and that she should apologize.

While the Twitter is filled in with opposing remarks, Ann Romney herself came forward to defend comments against her. ‘We have to respect women in all the choices they make. Raising children is one of the most important things that we can do’. She further states tat all those people who think that she didn’t had to struggle in her life she wants to remind them that she had been through both breast cancer and multiple sclerosis. ‘Maybe I haven’t struggle as much financially as other people have but I can tell you and promise you that I have had some struggles in my life’.

And how Rosen did defend her comments, ‘I love stay at homes mom. And with what I had said, my point was directed towards economics and not cultural choices. Most people in America, let’s face it, and don’t have that choice. They have to be working moms and home moms and that’s the piece that I am not hearing from the Romney camp’.

And when Rosen puts it that way it could be agreed to some extent after keeping in view how her husband is lagging behind when it comes to women voters in comparison to the support that Obama is receiving. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
