The Navi Mumbai Police deserve a pat on the back as under the dynamic leadership of Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol, the police ensured a smooth and peaceful polling day in all the four constituencies of Airoli, Belapur, Uran and Panvel. As the polling day came to an end, the Electronic Voting Machines that sealed the fate of candidates contesting from Belapur were collected and brought to the Rajeev Gandhi Stadium at CBD Belapur. Belapur Returning Officer Vaidahi Ranade and Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol were present at the stadium. Speaking to the media Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol informed that the entire voting day had ended peacefully and the police was on high alert throughout in all the four constituencies that come under their jurisdiction. He gave the credit for the peaceful polling day to the voters, police, CISF, SRPF and political parties. He confirmed that no cases of bogus voting were registered. He added that EVMs have been sealed and will be kept at Sacred Heart School at Vashi under two security cover including one of the paramilitary force. Belapur Returning Officer Vaidahi Ranade too acknowledged that polling day was peaceful and no violations were reported. She gave an insight on how the EVMs that will be kept at Sacred Heart School at Vashi under CCTV cameras watch and strict security cover.
