Additional Director General of Police K P Raghuvanshi took over as the new Thane Police Commissioner, replacing S P S Yadav who retired from service on January 31. Saying that his new posting came as a surprise, Raghuvanshi assured that he would strive to increase public participation in policing and improve the response provided to citizens at police stations.
