Women and youth got down on the roads on Independence Day to ensure that Kharghar stays a liquor free zone. All hell broke loose at Kharghar when a liquor shops opened at the node much to the disappointment of locals and especially women. While the residents of the node have been voicing their discontent through various forms and platforms, they even came forward to make their voice heard on Independence Day. Women and youth came under one banner to voice the need of keeping Kharghar a liquor free zone. MLA Vivek Patil and social worker Mrinal Gore were present to address the audience here.
