jasmin-2The anti-encroachment department of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has served a notice to Universal Builder and Developers for illegal construction in the stilt area at Jasmine Residency in Koperkhairane. Koparkhairane based builder, Universal Builders and Developers, have constructed a 1BHK flat in the area that has been reserved for stilt parking. The building where the illegal 1BHK has been constructed is a G+4 storey building Jasmine Residency at Koperkhairane. Earlier the Builder had promised the residents to allot three parking spaces. The original plan shows the stilt exclusively reserved for parking space for three vehicles in the building, but the present plan shows only two parking spaces. The residents have filed a complaint in NMMC, regarding this illegal construction by the builder. However, the NMMC ward officer in Koperkhairane, Sanjay Tayade, has a different say. He informed that the plan at the Town Planning Office of NMMC shows that only a part of the 1BHK constructed by the builder is illegal. The NMMC has served a notice to the builder on the same and has given a time period of 1 month to act on this issue, failing which necessary action will be taken against the builder. On the other hand, the builder says that he has utilized the permitted FSI for the construction of 1BHK. The case of Jasmine Residency raises the same concern of how new builders are ignoring the parking norms and civic rules due to which parking issue is becoming a dangerous menace in the city.
