Only participant from Navi Mumbai, Koperkhairne resident and Fr. Agnel student Oikagiri Debnath is one of the finalists at the ‘Extraa Innings T20 Junior’ talent hunt show being held by the IPL for this year’s cricketing extravaganza. Reshma Dharsee met the Oikagiri to find out more. This year, the IPL held a talent hunt, called ‘Extraa Innings T20 Junior’ to look for the hosts among children from across the country. Of the 500 children auditioned for this opportunity is Fr. Agnel Student Oikagiri Debnath, the excitement is at all time high. We met this 15 years old young enthusiast and asked her about what made her opt for this audition? From taking a chance to audition for this Talent Hunt on the phone to being short-listed in the finals, Oikagiri is extremely excited. The Talent Hunt was organized at a local school where 500 children participated. Out of which 20 had to be short-listed for the next level. As Oikagiri was determined to make the best impression on the judges, this young Agnelite managed to beat the crowd with her intellect and talent to communicate regardless the situation, and atlast Oikagiri’s audition was tad from the other participants. Gregarious by nature, Oikagiri’s confidence and boldness got her noticed among the crowd of the 500 aspirants resulting in her being included to top 20 contestants. Having combination of her screen presence, entertaining quotient, impulsiveness and confidence level, Oikagiri sailed through the audition thereby reaching in the top 12 choices.
