KRIPA SHANKAR SINGH TAKES OVER AS MUMBAI REGIONAL CONGRESS COMMITTEE CHIEF

kripa-shankar-singh-2In a grand event held at Azad Maidan where Kripa Shankar Singh accepted his accepted his new post as the chief of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee in the presence of Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Also present was the party’s state election campaign committee chief Kurudas Kamat. While Congress might not have noted the importance of Kripa Shankar for the last four years, it has definitely tried to attract the votes of the North Indians situated in Mumbai by appointing Kripa Shankar as the new chief of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee. Knowing the facts, Kripa Shankar however did follow the orders of the commands and graciously accepted the post in a meet held at Azad Maidan. Present during the meet was Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Central State Minister Jatin Prasad, Social Justice Minister Chandrakant Handore, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Harshvardhan Patil, Eknath Gaekwad, Priya Dutt amongst others. It cannot be forgotten that the last Lok Sabha elections saw a major victory of the Congress party from Mumbai which indicated the significance of the North Indian votes. However the situation might be a little different than before as there is still disaapointed amongst the North Indians of the state in lieu of the silence of the Congress party during the various comments and remarks made by Raj Thackarey in the previous few months.
