KURLA POND CLEANING WORK COMMENCES ONCE AGAIN

kurla-pond-1With monsoons on its way, BMC has once again decided the cleaning and beautification plans for Sheetal pond situated at Kurla (W). The corporation is spending around Rs 2 crores 67 lakh for the same this time round. Monsoons are here and the cleaning works of ponds and drainages have started all across the city. One of them is Sheetal pond at Kurla West. Like every year this year too BMC is spending for its cleaning and beautification. The BMC would be cleaning the pond of debris and repairing the drainage line, which was repaired by MHADA not very long ago. It may be recalled that last year around Rs 10-15 lakh was spent for its cleaning. Surprisingly, despite the yearly cleaning work, the pond still remains blocked and filled with debris. Our team went to the BMC office to know more on the case but the officials present refused to speak on camera. Unfortunately, every year BMC spends crores of rupees in development works like cleaning and road repair works but due to the palm greasing of a few corrupt officers, the money fills the coffers of a few. With cameraperson Abhishek Gaekwad, Shaildendra Upadhyay for NMTV News.
