Thane Municipal Corporation which is not just facing a shortage of security guards but even the safety measures needed to safeguard their lives is lacking, has decided to beef up its security. After the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, the city has been on high alert. But one very important fact that has come to light is how much we are lacking in safety measures like ammunition, helmets, bullet proof jackets. Post this attack, municipal corporations have woken up and are seriously looking at beefing up safety measures and security personals. According to Bhayya Saheb Indise, TMC Standing Committee Chairman, sixty trained guards as well as retired army-men would be hired in the process. The residents of Thane however expressed disappointment in the security measure followed by TMC and voiced the need for more advanced security measures in the corporation.
