Lesson for humans ! Still no power in hundreds of thousands homes around New York

The most powerful place on earth got a taste of nature fury when tropical storm Irene hit New York city. The storm disconnected power supply in New York city for the first time in recent history.

Even as the city is crawling back to normalcy, about 376,000 homes in downstate New York, New Jersey and Connecticut do not have power.

Close to New York, on Long Island, 89,000 customers remained without power until Thursday evening, though in main city of New York, electricity has been restored in most homes though a few thousands are still said to be powerless, a term that has begun to haunt United States in more ways than one in recent months.
