Mumbai city is on the target list of terrorist once again. A letter has been sent to the Life Insurance Corporation Ltd at Nariman Point allegedly by SIMI activists. A letter sent by the Students Islamic Movement of India also known as SIMI has sent shock waves in the headquarters of LIC situated at Nariman Point. The officials have told the Marine Drive police that they have received an anonymous letter saying the LIC headquarters, Yogakshema, at Nariman Point would be blown up on May 24 if SIMI activists arrested recently from Indore were not released immediately. Mumbai police have taken the threat seriously and have beefed up security around the building. The mention of Indore too is being given due consideration as key SIMI activists were held there in March this year. Safdar Nagori, all-India general secretary of the outlawed Islamic radical organisation, was then held in Indore by the Special Task Force (STF) of Madhya Pradesh police along with 10 other members of the outfit. While the police refused to speak on camera, we spoke with Home Minister R R Patil about this threat.
