Maha assures HC on opening State Police Complaints Authority soon

After the state government’s failure to make the State Police Complaints Authority operational, it recently assured the Bombay High Court that the complaints authority would become operational within the next two months. The body will look into petitioners alleging lack of redressal of their complaints against police officers.

The state was going to make it operational by April, as was informed to the court, but it failed to do so.

The grievance of the petitioners is that despite making provision for constitution of State Police Complaints Authority, the state has failed to constitute it so far.
