Maha govt to provide Rs 1012 crore aid to cotton, soyabean farmers


Farmers cultivating cotton and soyabean would be provided with an additional package of Rs 1,012 crore. The decision was taken by the Maharashtra government considering that these two crops were ethe most affected due to drought in the state. These two crops are also not covered under the insurance schemes.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave a go ahead to the three proposals on the same submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Water Conservation and the Ministry of Water Resources to scale up the measures undertaken to mitigate drought-related problems.
