Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has said the state government has not given tax relief to IPL and the issue is still under consideration. Speaking to reporters Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that though the state government has not imposed entertainment tax on IPL cricket, it does not mean that the government has given tax relief. Whether to impose entertainment tax on IPL or not is still under consideration and after an in-depth study, the government will take a decision, he has said. State finance minister Sunil Tatkare of Nationalist Congress Party had earlier said that the government had no plans to tax IPL. However, the chief minister had contradicted him by saying that entertainment tax would be imposed on IPL matches. Bureau report – NMTV News.
