The year began on a grim note with a spate of student suicides reportedly triggered by fear of failure and academic pressure. It was roughly around this time, that a Marathi book that talks about individuals who did not manage to do well in schools but went on to become achievers, released it’s 18th edition. Here’s a report. Are you afraid of getting lesser marks or remaining unsuccessful to perform well in your academics? Well, don’t be. As there are many people who have gone through a similar situation. But these people are not ordinary ones. They are among those who have reached heights in their respective careers even after facing failure. The book titled “Napaas Mulanchi Goshta” was written by a Marathi poet Arun Shevate in 2004, with modest expectations. He had certainly not foreseen its growing popularity among students and parents struggling with mounting academic pressure. At present the book is in its 18th print in the six years, each print is of thousand copies. According to him, failure is just a matter of one year and for that giving away your life is not a solution. He also expressed his satisfaction that his purpose of writing the book was served. Finally, he said that the most important thing a student should do is to remove the fear of getting failed. In his book he has listed many famous Indian and International personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Justice Dharmadhikari, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan, Raj Kapoor, and many more, who irrespective of facing failure in academics, could perform well and become great achievers in their lives. The purpose of this is never get depressed because of failure; instead, learn to convert it into success with your continuous attempts and with a positive attitude.
