max-adds1Max has decided to go on-ground for its broadcast as well. Extraa Innings, the pre and post match discussion show on the channel, will now be aired live from the stadium, from the sidelines of the playing area. A press conference was held earlier this week informing about what IPL season II has to offer apart from the game. The season II of the DLF IPL just got bigger and more exciting with Max, its official broadcasters announcing a slew of power packed initiatives for its popular wrap around programming “Extraa Innings T20”. The show which became very popular last year and season before it, has a new song composed by the Musical trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and is based on the theme of the IPL – EK DESH, EK JUNOON. The powerful composition will be played as an opening montage on every episode of extra Innings T20. Shankar Mahadevan, the lead singer of the group said that the song was all about celebration and that it was an ode to the cricket lovers of India. For the audience, Shankar sang two liners of the song. In line with the new song, the channel also brought back the articulate First Lady of Indian cricket – Mandira Bedi, as a co-host for Extra Innings T20. Speaking to NMTV News, Mandira admitted that while it was a pity that IPL was not happening in India, it would be all the same great in South Africa. Max also announced a fresh new team of anchors which included Samir Kochhar, who had successfully hosted DLF IPL season I. Speaking to NMTV News, Samir’s opinion too was that this time it would be bigger, better and stronger. Meiyank Chang, the most popular Indian Idol contestant will also be seen presenting IPL on Max. The third new face this season will be popular VJ and presenter turned actor Gaurav Kapoor who too expects the game to be power packed and outright entertaining.
