A special meeting was called by the MCGM to discuss on the impending crisis of acute water shortage in teh city. The meeting headed by the new MCGM Commissioner Swadheen Kshtriya comkprised of Additional Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners of all the 24 wards. After a long discussion, it was decided that 250 MLD of recycled water should be used for drinking as well as for other purpose. Also important decisions were taken over water problem at ward level. Despite MCGM coming up with news ways and measures to tackle water shortage in the city, the civic body has failed miserably in its efforts. taking this issues as his top priority, MCGM Commissioner Swadhin Kshtriya called for a special meeting with Additional Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of all teh 24 wards in the city. The four and a half hour long meet, the MCGM Commissioner spoke to the media. Speaking on the decision taken at the winter session of the state assembly to recycle water, he said that nearly 250 MLD of water was after recycling was let out into the sea, but now this water will be brought into use for purposes like cleaning of trains, gardens, washing clothes etc. He made an appeal to the citizens that water shortage was a natural disaster and gave the assurance MCGM would take all possible steps to rectify it.
