MCGM GIVES NOD TO COMMERICIAL HOARDINGS NEAR NAVRATRI MANDALS

bmc-hording-4Under pressure from the political parties, municipal commissioner Jairaj Pathak issued fresh circulars directing ward officers to allow commercial advertisement hoardings within 100 m of sarvajanik Navratri mandals. The directives to this effect were issued on Saturday which overruled the earlier order that restricted commercial hoardings around navratri mandals during the festive season. The decision was taken after the issue was discussed in the BMC group leaders meeting, where corporators argued that using the election code of conduct as an excuse to ban hoardings during festive days of Navratri does not makes sense. From now onwards, the hoardings will be allowed at nominal charge of Rs 101, for the next nine days,” said a BMC official. The BMC licence department is continuing its drive against illegal banners.
